Professor Philip O’Connell
Philip O’Connell is Executive Director of The Westmead Institute for Medical Research. He is a Conjoint Professor in Medicine at the University of Sydney, Director of Transplantation at Westmead Hospital and a Senior Practitioner Fellow of the NHMRC.
Chief Operating Officer
Simon Hall
Simon Hall is the Chief Operating Officer and Company Secretary of WIMR, responsible for driving operational excellence and strategic initiatives to support the world-class medical research of the institute. He oversees the WIMR Foundation, IP & Commercialisation, Finance, People & Culture, Scientific Platforms, Communications, ICT, Research Support Services, Research Governance, Facilities and Operations.
Simon joined WIMR from the Medical School of the University of Melbourne, with a background in transforming corporate services across academic divisions of Australian universities and driving revenue growth through international markets for UK and Middle Eastern institutions.
