Centre for Diabetes, Obesity and Endocrinology Research

Led by Professor Jenny Gunton, the vision of the Centre for Diabetes, Obesity and Endocrinology Research (CDOER) is to improve the health and wellbeing of people with a range of chronic problems, including: Diabetes, Obesity, Liver disease and Loss of muscle function. CDOER uses a range of new models, from cell culture through to human clinical studies, to understand the processes underlying disease and finding ways of preventing and treating these increasingly common conditions. CDOER’s strong basic science addresses questions relevant to patients. With strong clinical links, our researchers have access to important patient samples. The Centre’s research strength lies in the diverse backgrounds of the team, including dietetics, podiatry, medical and allied health.
