Biography
A/Prof Samarawickrama is a clinician-scientist and named one of the Top 5 Young Scientists of 2019 by the ABC. Within research, he holds an NHMRC Investigator fellowship, has an h-index of 33, 75 peer-reviewed publications and over 2500 citations. He has obtained over $1.8M in collaborative grant funding, of which over $1M was as Principal Investigator. He holds a patent for a surgical device that has reached successful commercialisation. A/Prof Samarawickrama is a science communicator with strong links to media. Clinically, he is a cornea sub-specialist with a public appointment at Westmead Hospital.
