Emily Blyth

Biography

A/Prof Blyth is a clinical and laboratory haematologist, blood transplant and cell therapies physician and the Clinical Lead for the Immune Effector Cell Service at Westmead Hospital. She is a Research Lead with the Westmead T cell Therapies Group with a focus on utilising cellular therapies to improve outcomes for patients with blood cancers. She has developed new therapeutic products that have been tested in successful human trials and explored their biologic activity in recipients with the goal to improve efficacy.

She is a leader in the field of cellular therapy, is the ANZ Regional Vice President for the International Society for Cell and Gene Therapy (2024-2026) and has received a number of awards including Cancer Institute of New South Wales Outstanding Cancer Research Fellow in 2021, and is current NSW Ministry of Health Cell and Gene Therapy Early/Mid Career Fellow.
