Biography
Artur Shvetcov is a Senior Bioinformatician and Head of the Bioinformatics Program in the Neurodegeneration and Disease Modelling Lab. Artur holds an M.Sc. in Bioinformatics from ITMO University and a Ph.D. from the University of New South Wales. He leads an independent research program applying interpretable machine learning to large-scale proteomic and clinical datasets to advance precision medicine in Alzheimer’s disease and related neurodegenerative disorders
Research interests
Bioinformatics, Systems Biology, Health Informatics, Machine Learning
Additional information
Artur’s research is mainly focused on using large-scale clinical and multi-omic data to build precision medicine frameworks that deliver robust diagnostic and prognostic models, uncover genotype-specific disease mechanisms, and identify clinically actionable biomarkers and therapeutic targets for personalised intervention. Artur is also interested in the statistical and computational challenges of working with multi-centre and consortium-derived datasets, including the harmonisation of heterogeneous data sources, correction for technical and site-related biases, and the development of scalable, reproducible pipelines that ensure analytical robustness across cohorts.
