Liang Qiao

Biography

Dr. Qiao is a Principal Research Fellow at the Storr Liver Centre and an Adjunct Professor of the Faculty of Medicine and Health, the University of Sydney. He leads a research group in the Storr Liver Centre working on liver cancer and chronic liver diseases (e.g., MAFLD) with a focus on the roles of cancer stem cells in the pathogenesis of liver cancer and therapy development. His group has generated liver biobank containing primary tissues from various liver diseases and biomaterials derived from the tissues (e.g., organoids). Dr. Qiao holds senior editorial roles in multiple international journals (e.g., Specialty Chief Editor for Front Oncol; Associate Editor for Therapeutic Advances in Medical Oncology; Senior Editor for Cancer Letters; Co-Chief Editor for Current Stem Cell Research & Therapy; consulting editor for Pharmacological Research, etc). Dr. Qiao has authored >220 articles in peer-reviewed journals including in Cell, J Hepatol, Hepatology, Gut, Mol Cancer, Cancer Res, Cancer Letts, BBA Rev on Cancer, and Adv Drug Deliv Rev. His h-index is 63. He is listed since 2022 as one of the most highly cited and world’s top 2% scientist in the field of Oncology, Gastroenterology and Hepatology).
