Currently open to PHD and Honours students in the topic areas of:
The role of Thrombospondin 1 (TSP1) signaling pathways in cardiorenal syndrome (CRS) and vascular spasticity
Is TSP1 a cardiovascular risk factor for pre- and post-transplant CKD mice/patients?
Can kidney transplantation reverse the cardiovascular complications?
Chronic kidney disease (CKD) induced musculoskeletal impairments
CKD and mineral bone disorder (CKD-MBD)
Effects of diabetes and aging in CKD-induced cardiovascular disease (CVD)
Inhibition of cardiorenal syndrome (CRS) by TSP1-targeted peptides
TSP1 targeted exercise mimetics in CRS
Biography
Dr. Julovi is a Principal Investigator at the Kidney Injury Group, Westmead Institute for Medical Research, and an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at the University of Sydney (USyd). He began his research career at the Northern Clinical School, USyd, as a Postdoctoral Research Associate before advancing to Research Fellow. Before his tenure in Australia, he was a Centre of Excellence (COE) Postdoctoral Fellow and a Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) Fellow at the Graduate School of Medicine, Kyoto University, Japan.
Dr. Julovi’s research focuses on combating chronic diseases. His current research investigates cardiovascular pathology and cartilage-bone metabolism in the context of complications from chronic kidney disease. Over the past four years, his work has secured more than $2.8M in research funding.
